re: News: Westside Corporation present at the... thanks Energy,
yep they are both v good presentations, and gets the message across.
the bottom line is, we have a good company, well managed, well resourced interms of funding and skills, growth industry, a product in demand, we are actually producing and proving we can supply, and evidently very strong demand from BOTH domestic gas users and export users.

So in the unlikely event that LNG and WCL do not agree on a price, WCL is no worse off imho.

We still have an extremely attarctive business proposition. By the time we fill that AGL contract, it should be throwing off free cash flow. I heard somewhere that at current production rates, Meridian is already covering its costs. (I presume not H/O, personnel costs though). SO signs are v good.

    Re the article: it says

"Australia Pipeline Industry Association chief Cheryl Cartwright said forcing proponents to supply local industry wasn't an answer"

So to me, the answer is simple.
Why doesn't the Qld Govt simply invest in a CSG (or conv or unconv) gas project.

Imagine all the middlemen profits/margins it could cutout, if it were to invest seed capital in a gas project, then take its share of the gas produced, and supply that gas to the gas users of Qld?

JB says we produce CSG at around $1 -$2 /gj - so when prices are up to say $8/gj, shows how much better off Qld users would be to get their gas at some lower domestic price from the Govt investment.

I could not think of a better investment for the Qld govt.
They could do it thru say Stanwell Corp, who already have investments in gas.

just a thought, and it neutralises any fears of the Govt intervention bogeyman.

    cheers
