"Biden said on Tuesday his goal would be to resume normal communications with China, including military-to-military contacts. With elections in Taiwan in early 2024, political analysts expect China to seek U.S. assurances that it will do nothing to encourage pro-independence elements, while Xi will also be hoping to persuade Biden to ease up on tariffs and the export controls that aim to keep the most advanced semiconductors from being sent to China.
And Im pretty sure Biden will be asking Xi to ease up on the permit control of graphite to enable better access to this essential EV commodity which China have 90-95% processing control over.
If the case and he does ease these restrictions it will make for a more level playing field when it comes to the graphite producers getting a better price for their spherical graphite rather than a Chinese influenced one.
Its HUGE money involved here which is affecting all aspects of Graphite companies including some suspect trading patterns which I have experienced in the last couple of days.
If they dont talk about this then Joe better have a coffee or two to keep himself awake, Im pretty sure Xi wont want him to bring it up, but I give Joe more credit than that, or his advisors anyway.
