The eBay plan is apparently worth $1.25b upfront (sp. rose $1 x 1.25b shares on issue). Investors seem to be embracing this idea as a great success before it has even begun.
Sold my WOW shares about two years ago after visiting a couple of new Masters stores (traveled a fair distance to do it too, claimed travel expenses!) - was disappointed with the concept and felt the implementation needed a lot more work to be competitive. Bunnings have a massive head start in hardware and I think Woolies management were (are?) too complacent.
Still a very strong company and the cash will keep rolling in. However, a very large increase in short interest over the last six months (now at 5.4%, WES only 0.9%) is a red flag for me.
