One has to wonder what shareholders got for that $7.5m.
I'll agree with the left on reducing CEO pay and the right on paying them more if they do a good job. Incentives should be tied to performance.
Pay should be something like 200k a year, with huge amounts given out for meeting performance goals and increasing shareholder value.
And to anyone who suggests a bigger base packet needs to be given out to attract competence, I completely disagree. What does it say if a person does not have confidence in themselves that they can meet the performance targets to earn that 10m+ ?
Tying performance to cash in a more direct manner should help to filter out a lack of performance.
