Fair points and any other retailer I would tend to agree. However I was very closely watching Amazon build their warehouse in VIC, I was staying at the same motel on several weekends as several amazon people working down there. I remember Jerry Harvey saying it took HN 3 years to get land and build a warehouse. Amazon took 9 months to obtain, build, fit out and start operations in theirs.
Amazon is not just another normal retailer, if you think of them like that then they already have a massive advantage over you. Look at the job adverts for amazon, there were many more for IT staff in Sydney than logistics in Melbourne....why?
I agree that WOW has the perceptions on their side at the moment, except value.....ALDI has that.
With the launch of Alexa, where will Amazon go? Watch for Prime to come next and then the move to push delivery points closer to population points.
Its all good, better to have more competition than less.
