MELBOURNE, Oct 25 (Reuters) - Woodside Petroleum (WPL) will invest more than A$1 billion to build a carbon neutral hydrogen and ammonia production facility in Western Australia, the state government said on Monday.
"The first phase of the facility, dubbed H2Perth, will include more than A$1 billion in capital expenditure," the state's premier, Mark McGowan, and other ministers said in a joint statement.
A Woodside spokesperson confirmed the company will go ahead with building a plant, but declined to comment on the cost.
