Aug 19 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 0930 GMT on Thursday:
** Goldman Sachs GS.N said it will buy Dutch insurer NN Group's asset management arm for 1.7 billion euros ($1.98 billion) in the biggest acquisition by the U.S. company since David Solomon became chief executive in 2018.
** Australian miner IGO Ltd (IGO) said it was in preliminary talks to acquire nickel miner Western Areas Ltd (WSA) , as it raises its footprint in battery materials after buying a lithium stake earlier this year.
** Illumina Inc ILMN.O has completed its $7.1 billion acquisition of cancer detection test maker Grail Inc GRAL.O , it said amid challenges posed by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the European Union antitrust regulators
** Nvidia Corp NVDA.O said talks with regulators to clear its $40 billion proposed acquisition of British semiconductor technology firm Arm Ltd are taking longer than expected.
** Asset manager Schroders SDR.L , which holds a 6.3% stake in Avast Plc AVST.L , raised concerns over the London-listed firm's 6.2 billion pounds ($8.6 billion) deal to sell itself to U.S. cybersecurity company NortonLifeLock Inc NLOK.O , the Times newspaper reported.
** CME Group Inc CME.O , the world's biggest futures exchange operator, denied a media report that it approached rival Cboe Global Markets Inc CBOE.Z , home to the VIX volatility index, with a $16 billion all-share takeover offer.
