I think this sale by Glencore is potentially a good outcome if the sale is to a range of investors and to some Australian institutions in particular. If so, this will improve liquidity on the ASX.
But if the sale is to one investor (probably Chinese), this does nothing to improving liquidity on the ASX and would be probably a negative outcome.
The share price may drop tomorrow notwithstanding the strong thermal coal price and the massive cashflow Yancoal is currently generating.
I think this sale by Glencore is potentially a good outcome if...
