Your comments well reflect the national mood in China today, fostered by decades of relentless CCP propaganda based on selective historical snippets and outright lies. It is exactly the national mood that prevailed in Germany and Japan in the 1930s - a virulent nationalism outraged at perceived historical injustices and determined to establish, by force if necessary, the country's supposedly rightful position as top nation, dominating the rest of the world. You might like to reflect on where that national mood will take China and how the rest of the world is likely to react. No-one else is going to want to be dominated by China any more than China wanted to be dominated by Japan, and therefore no-one else is going to put up with it.

Why does the CCP do this? Because it is frightened to the point of paranoia of the risk that the Chinese people will rise up and overthrow it. The CCP knows, deep down, that it has no legitimacy. The Chinese people last had a say in who led them in 1947. To distract the Chinese people from this fact it must - like all totalitarian regimes - persuade them that their real enemy is external and direct their anger and grievance against the external enemy. The problem is that this often leads to war if the supreme leader feels threatened (eg Galtieri) or if he surrounds himself with yes-men who don't dare to contradict him or depose him and goes a little bit mad (the Kaiser, Hitler, Milosevic, Saddam Hussein, Putin etc - the list keeps growing doesn't it?). Which one will the Emperor emulate?
