Qantas just announced a 51% stake in an online travel agent, and its CEO has declared an obvious strategic move to more online booking:

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said: “This is a great opportunity at the perfect time. Coming out of the pandemic, people want a holiday experience that is special but also tried and tested, and there is a huge shift to booking online."

Hmmm, now I wonder? Do BNPL's tend to feature higher or lower in online shopping as a payments method? (and yes ZIP is offered on Tripadeal, but that's not the important news here, the increased online travel booking strategy by Qantas is)

Investors not connecting the dots here. ZIP at $12 was stupid. ZIP<$1 is stupid.

Cash transactions margin will move back towards 3% and continued revenue growth will see commentary change very quickly come August from "the model doesn't work" to "oh, the model does work, albeit on tight margins" - as it should be. BNMPL's are not adding much value beyond a staggered payment option for consumers (contrary to all the pump ZIP/APT holders claimed on the highs), which the RBA and other payment authorities are not going to tighten regulation on in the next couple of years as they raise rates whilst anxiously wanting to keep consumers driving the economy, via any means necessary (BNPL a flawed, but obvious method).
