So, in February, they say:

"the commencement of detailed mapping and channel/trench sampling of the West Delta Prospect." 26th February 2010.

And yet, 3 months before, they say this:

"trenching results are expected over the coming weeks and will be released when they come to hand." - 30th November 2009.


Now tell me, how can results be due "in the coming weeks" when the activity itself had not even begun? In fact, that activity itself, DOING the trenching, was not to begin for over 3 months. It may not have even begun yet...

So, HGO led shareholders to believe that results were due in the coming weeks, when the underlying activity had not begun. How results can magically "come to hand" without digging the soil is a question I am looking for to hearing the answer to!

As it turned out, the only thing to then happen within the 'coming weeks' was the placement at 40 cents, 2 and a half weeks later, at a 10 cent discount to the prevailing price.


I didn't buy subsequent to that quarterly report, but others did. These people will be listening with much interest to what HGO says in response to these queries.

(this is not the only example of reporting that is far from accurate. Wouldn't shareholders be fascinated to find out exactly how long ago PIRSA approved the tailings dam design.. - the final regulatory hurdle?.. HGO were cagey about when this was granted, because shareholder would understandably like to know why the delay in FID and financing.)
