Resources (ASX: SIR) has been granted a trading halt this morning pending an announcement on exploration results, with the company's shares placed in pre-open.

The markets have been waiting on further assays obtained on the 600N line. Down hole electromagnetic surveying is underway and drilling is continuing.

A hole earlier in the week on the 600N line intersected:

- An upper zone of 4.1 metres of stringer and disseminated sulphides from 405.9 metres, and;
- A lower zone of 5.2 metres of massive, stringer and disseminated sulphides from 413.8 metres, and;
- A footwall zone of 7.0 metres of disseminated sulphides from 419 metres.

The halt will last until the earlier of an announcement being made to the market, or the opening of trade on Tuesday 25th September.
