sue
true, CAZ is not the same story, but they are similar in that, that which is just has not been done. despite all FACTS, the opposite decision has been made.
i was furious watching that report. I don't mind so much when its a company that gets done over, business can move on etc. rebuild. but when someone is in prison for the sake of a detective simply wanting to look good, to the point of with holding factual evidence which changes the outcome. that is unforgivable!!!
my wife and I have an interest in the justice system and tend to read reports on various issues. one such one .. a lady in the USA, spent 26 yrs proving her son was innocent. got him released in his mid 40's. gathering the evidence took a lifetime ... literally.
The CAZ saga is much much more simple, the burden of evidence is so much less, and the implications are far less reaching in so far as affecting peoples lives. but at the end of the day, fact is fact and law is law.
and sue .. you can be rest assured, if CAZ ends up in the High court of this land, the decision will be overturned. the High Court has no respect for the virtues of the State, nor should they. they are independent and answerable to no one at all!! I've read a of Kirby's commentary over the years. It'd probably take him all of about 5 mins to analyse the case and make a decison. brilliant legal mind.
however i do highly doubt the CAZ case will actually make it to any court of appeal, let alone the high court. it just saddens me that corruption is so rife. don't think i'll ever live in WA .. i'd end up getting arrested for assaulting people in prominent positions.
