The community will get a first-hand look at the EastLink project in May when invited to walk a round-trip of 1.1 kilometres along the motorway between Maroondah Highway and the new Ringwood Bypass, ConnectEast announced today.
Many thousands of Victorians are expected to take up the opportunity on Sunday 6 May to learn more about Australia’s largest road project and to find out how they will be able to use EastLink when it opens in 2008.
The EastLink Open Day will give visitors an opportunity to walk along the site of the road and view at least seven bridges under construction, as well as ConnectEast’s distinctive new corporate headquarters, a number of architecturally designed noise walls and major pieces of construction equipment.
