To the best of my knowledge most brokers are just after one thing, regular trades. Commissions is what drives these businesses. Most don't give a frog's fat %#^& about the investors. As for ASIC, when have they ever dragged a broking firm over the coals? I could give them many worthy examples worth following up that I know of alone. Brokers will follow minnows, but there's got to be something in it for them. That's why so many will gladly pump up wannabee but going nowhere speculative companies with ridiculous analyst reports and then sell out the placement to their own investors, only to see the share price come crashing down again.
