Libs should be happy with that result considering all the recent fail, its not their worst result, ALP have been ahead of them on primary by 3 points a couple of times in the last 6 months.
There is a good chance it will deteriorate towards the end of the year, if marriage equality wins and the LNP dont bring on a free vote quickly they will cop it from voters, and if they do bring on a free vote they will cop it from their conservative MPs (because they wont accept the result). And even though they are working very hard to shirk the responsibility for the energy situation, so summer will bring on threats of blackout and they will have to work harder and harder to sell their story. Victoria is looking to legislate 'assisted dying', i expect federal LNP conservative will throw a grenade in there at some stage, but their supplies are running low atm.
LNP needs to get some popular policies and stop governing in opposition.
