    Hi Eagle,

    There is no doubt there are some foul circumstances overseas - completely foul.

    Unfortunately there are also here - there are multitudes of unemployed, some of the Aboriginals (including their children) are in dire circumstances. I park at my local bus stop park each day and have to walk past a bunch of homeless people.

    There is the old saying 'charity starts at home' - something I agree with - especially when Australian aid budgets are just applied borrowed money that we can't afford (the federal deficit is unsustainable - which we will all find out next year when the country's AAA credit rating is cut). When that happens interest rates on borrowings will go up as the banks will no longer have the implicit guarantee of the Fed Gov's AAA credit rating. That will affect ordinary people who are already doing it tough due to the high costs of living.
