It was a bribe to Dunkley and Dunkley only. The average wage in Dunkley is less than the average. Smart politics yes, but the stench of Dan Andrews in Dunkley is enough to swing votes to Federal this time around.
As far as stage 3 tax cuts were concerned, they were not on the radar for the average person in Dunkley so now that they have a surprise bonus many are pleased. That feeling will fade over the month. Albo will do his best to remind everyone of the stage 3 tax cuts over the month but as usual he will come across as desperate. Once a stigma of lies, fakeness and phoniness is attached to a politician it sticks.
The Frankston Mayor is well liked and should have this in the bag. My bet is a huge swing to the LNP. No amount of campaigning can change tis from Labor.
That said, Pesutto could hurt if allowed by Federal LNP to get involved. It is best he stays quiet this month.
