    Mysterious trader joins forum

TIME for some light relief from the small-cap sector.

For weary Reeltime Media (RMA) investors, reading the "video on demand" providers' annual accounts recently must have been like watching a horror movie. That is unless, of course, you are the mysterious New Trader 77, on the Hotcopper online share forum.

New Trader, uniquely, has taking a liking to the languishing "new" media stock, which is trading at a paltry 2c, down precipitously from its December 2006 high of 34c.

Among a range of bullish comments, RMA said investors had nothing to fear, despite its recent accounts revealing it had only $8000 in the bank. RMA's fourth-quarter accounts revealed a $2.58million wages bill for the financial year, despite only booking $101,000 in customer revenue.

    Loyalty on the line

AS City Beat noted yesterday, the otherwise friendless RMA is being spruiked by mystery Hot Copper tipster New Trader 77.

RMA's chief executive, John Karantzis, sent a letter to shareholders this week acknowledging that the group had had a difficult time and offering shareholders a loyalty program that provided discounts to shareholders who took up the service.

If the 1000-plus per cent crash in their share price wasn't enough, Karantzis is now asking them for more money to boost his dismal subscriber revenues.

RMA has issued a supplementary disclosure document this week. RMA is doing a capital raising, announced in June, to help bail them out of financial trouble. The original issue price was 5.3c but the revised offer now stands at 2.5c. It has also extended the closing date from July 31 to September 29. Sounds like a red-light clearance sale.

Last time a Hotcopper contributor was so positive about RMA it was a tipster called Akara whom Karantzis outed as himself. But Karantzis assured us it's not him this time. "I have no reason to hide behind an alias," he told City Beat. "
