Patience is needed. Nextellis was always going to take time to build up market share. Although it has the prominent promotional appeal of containing the first new natural oestrogen in many years it is not as if it was going to be a blockbuster like a new cancer treatment or a drug for a condition that previously had no effective treatment/cure. A patient is not going to switch easily if their OC or device is well tolerated and relatively cheap. Younger new patients will create growth opportunity over time. Word of mouth is probably going to be just as effective long term as doctor detailing. The proof will be in the pudding. We all would like to see a greater rate of uptake but it is a solid start in a very competitive established market sector.
