Gringo, I've got half a dosen half barrels (wine) where I've planted all sorts of things. I'll be buying a couple more soon. It's a good way to conserve water use, particularly if you use good mulch. Mother has cut down dad's vegie patch by half (after he died a few years ago) and we get pretty much every thing we need from these two sources. I've also planted lots of fruit trees. No need to water them at all once they're established. Good stuff.
