From experience, I wouldn't count on it staying elevated without further announcements. Don't forget it pushed up to around this level on very high volume just a month ago only to crash back down to nearly $1 a couple of weeks later.

If you look at the chart over the last 2 years you'll find extreme volatility and spikes on high volume followed by crazed selling. And yes I do believe some who trade these stocks have deep pockets. The last time it spiked to $1.40+ people on here were saying the volumes were too high for it to be traders and that the stock would go up and up but sure enough the crash happened.

Seen it too many times to not suspect the same thing is happening here. I am just hoping that in June/July they will announce 50MT+ JORC and we will say goodbye to the $1 mark forever and throw our $2 party with the price stabilising around that level at least.
