Billion + share on issue is not unique to CHK to be fair go look at other exploration companies. PCL has 8 billion share most I've seen spec mining sector most average around billion and half. In end if CHK find commercial grade resource it will will rise it as simple at that otherwise basically tax right off. Just research around Olympic dam see potential.
