The Minister for Climate and Environment, Romina Pourmokhtari, of which the entire Swedish environmental code falls under her ministry, has stated multiple times she wants to see uranium mines in Sweden. She is the one who initiated the investigation that will lift the U ban. It also sounds like the local U veto may no longer apply when U is a byproduct, and she understands this veto was a major hurdle in the past. She is designing the lifting of the ban specifically to see U mines in Sweden. She also initiated an extensive review of the entire environmental code to speed up the permitting process in general as well as make it more predictable. They also got rid of the Natura 2000 permit requirement as part of the mining concession phase and pushed it back to the environmental permitting phase.

The deputy prime minister, Ebba Busch, literally the second highest politician in Sweden, has also said she wants to see more mines and she is strongly pro nuclear and pro U mining. Even the social democrats are getting behind nuclear.

The Haggan open pit would be in uninhabited forest and the mining process is simple and well established as safe. There is a very real possibility that it will eventually become a mine. The incredibly good numbers in the scoping study, if anything, were conservative because they didn't take into account the potential for a significant net energy credit (as electricity sold back to the grid), or the possible extraction of some REE's, not to mention the 92M contingency put into the CAPEX numbers. Haggan is easily a global tier one deposit.
