I am not so sure anyone expected those earlier rises to come (and disappear) as quick as they did (when markets were flat or going backwards with US fiscal and Greece/Spain turmoil).
Based exactly on that observation, anything can happen and at any time.
It happened repeatedly before and will happen again in the future and not
always around announcement expectations.
