andy777 - I think you mean to say concerns they will overpay for the WA licence (period). There is no renewal for TAH , as far as I am aware as WA is the last state or territory to run its own TAB (with most now operated by TAH) and that hasn't changed.
Media reporting last year (https://www.watoday.com.au/national/western-australia/record-2-3b-runs-through-wa-tab-operator-as-spend-on-problem-gambling-drops-20211101-p59532.html) that The WA TAB was up for sale after negotiations to transfer the entity to Tabcorp fell apart and that Tabcorp is still the leading contender but several other companies have shown interest in the TAB, which could fetch upwards of $1 billion given the new owner will not have to underwrite WA’s racing industry, which had previously been a condition of the sale.
