I really don't get the concept of not taking the gold price into account.
Your trying to find gold.... why would you spend money trying to find something that has no value? Lol, you wouldn't.
Percentage of gold obtained after processing based on "x" gold price after expenses = potential profit.
The unknown, "x", is what the price of gold will be when it is mined.
What value do you place on what you are trying to find while exploring... today's price! What else is there?
Do you honestly believe if the gold price starts rocketing down, the SP won't... your kidding right?
For me, thinking the price of gold will be higher at the point of mining, it makes sense to incorporate an explorer for future potential return when/if they find grounds that are rich in that commodity. If I thought that gold would go down over the same time frame, why would I consider it?
Same goes for oil, silver etc. etc.
In the mean time, the worth of the gold in the ground has value based on... based on... you guessed it... today's price of gold. What else?
oh yeah.... concept works with sheep too.
