Sorry, but that's incorrect. The Trust has been buying farms since at least 2014 with its most recent acquisition being last September. I won't bother you with anything more beyond simply saying this:
* how would most of the country's lawyers ever be able to function or survive (given their trust backgrounds, etc) if separate trusts were required every time a new asset was acquired (how indeed would they then be able to dispose of their assets, as well?);
* ditto, many of the nation's accountants;
* ditto, all the doctors;
* ditto, the politicians and their families who seem to buy investment properties and the like but then forget then about disclosing the details of this in their parliamentary registers;
* ditto, also many of the nation's farmers, particularly once you venture out into the wider wheat belt, etc;
* ditto, how would some of the country's most established, old, and venerable business ever be able to function, or continue if the suggested circumstances above were to prevail; and
* what a regulatory, compliance, taxing and realising nightmare that we would all have if the suggestion above applied to trusts although, in many respects, it does apply to partnerships (perhaps then that's where the confusion might have arisen - comparing and contrasting trusts to partnerships).
