According to the Governors of South Region, Jules Marcellin Ndjaga, the first phase of the Kribi Deep Seaport has reached over 95 per cent, while work on the Mekin and Memve'ele dams is going on well. On the other hand, the Kribi Gas-fired Project is now complete and supplying power. Governer Ndjaga however noted that there was a problem with the Mengang-Sangmelima Road which has been halted while the one from Sangmelima to Ouesso in Congo Brazzaville is well behind schedule.
Elsewhere in country, Governor Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboua of the East Region says work on the Lom Pang Hydro-electric Dam is 54 per cent complete, with the people looking forward to the construction of a rail line from Mbalam to the Kribi Deep Seaport for exporting iron ore.
