Just a word of caution - if your holding is deemed to be part of a sharetrading operation, you'll get taxed on the lot regardless of time held. Sharetrading comes down to a matter of fact - if you are in & out of shares throughout the year, the ATO can treat you as a trader, and deny any cgt discount. If this is a one-off and you hold the balance of your portfolio over twelve months, you have a better chance of a cgt discount.
