It wasn't lost on me at all. Was it lost on you that they emotionalised 690,000 tonnes into 10,000 Boeing 747s that are now apparently off the order books; or so we are led to infer. How many do you think they were going to build anyway?
As I wrote, a couple of months ago there was to have been a shortage. As SSkim added, the price (at least with Cu) doesn't really seem to depend on how much of the stuff is available anyway.
And as Chawkey noted, the Chinese want their own, and not to be dependant on the West's whims and fancies.
I don't see a problem.
