flame, as nose says technology looking like it works - go to steel dynamics web site to see plant. also nose forgot to mention fwl raised $1.5M before christmas so that risk is removed and we might see some drilling now. finally nose, you havn't researched scrap very well. the old eastern block countries chopped up every old factory etc they could find after the break up of the soviet union to suuply scrap and did dump scrap into the market but that just met demand. now that is all gone and the eaf market in russia and ukraine are growing (relatively) strongly and using all the scrap. countries like turkey that used to get thier scrap from ex-soviet countries now struggling to get enough. if the gfc didn't slow everything down i say pig iron would be 900 again. but remember fwl said that only need mpi selling at an average of 400/t. apparently it is well over that now. nose is scratching as usual (pardon the pun).
