Again, you're not sure. Of course you aren't! 10 years ago, no one would have ever dreamed about wireless speeds like we're getting today. You people are all thinking in terms of what we already know, not what we will unleash in the future. Again, I'm not arguing that there is no point to a fibre network, but connecting every house to it is silly at this point. The reality is, IMO, that this should have been left to the private sector. If we had left it to the private sector, I'd have 100MBPS already rather than the 1.3MBPS I have now. Crikey, I looked recently, the farm I grew up on in Tassie has the NBN, but here I am in suburban Melbourne looking at, well no defined date(or even year) when I'll get the option to connect. Fibre in the cities makes sense, fibre to the regional centres, other than maybe a fibre backbone to those regional centres is silly ..
