The interesting thing too me in today's announcement is in effect LG using the opportunity to provide finance as a means to take a stake within LTR. (People may recall CATL did something similar with PLS when it bought a stake in it when PLS was having funding problems - CATL to buy stake in Pilbara Minerals in Australia for A$55m (mining-technology.com)

This is a typical play you see with Australian mines - you see this particularly in the LNG space, and other minerals space, where companies take equity stakes in projects. Take spodumene, and Ganfeng has stakes in a few Australian lithium mines for example like Mt Marion.

In effect LG is going to get a nice stake in LTR at around $1.80 per share when it converts. Gina paid $3. This is the crunch - Albermale has gone but you now have LG on the register - well on the register when it converts - and that might prevent Gina's takeover ambitions. If I recall, Gina was seeking to have relationships with India - LG sees India as a competitor in downstream markets.

Just a thought over a nice cold VB.

    All IMO
