U could get gas from any section of the hole if geological conditions were ideal. However at this stage, we are not interested in trace gas/ background gas or even trip gas. We are looking for gas hosting reservoir which is still a fair way to go.
Current operations (post last ann'mnt) should b setting up BOP & then pressure testing it. once thats done they drill the cement & the shoe & start drilling the 12.25" section till 3900 or bit more.
After which they should run a 9-3/8" casing just to avoid too much of an open hole section & then drill the 8.5" hole to TD of 4800m.
Tke ann'mnts from KAR would b far more informative with a time-depth curve & a litho section.
