They do assign weightings to "categories of goods". But not so much detail on individual items.
The gist of what I am saying is that in reality the "inflation rate" actually depends on your expenditure pattern and can therefore differ from year to year and from individual to individual. My rate of inflation based on my expenditure is well over 10%. Well over.
