What cargo vessels carry will come very close to Deadweight. Much closer to Deadweight than to the Gross Tonnage figure you were previously comparing against. Nice work though throwing in all those extra potential weight additions to try and get yourself out of the hole of your original claim that the vessel would only be capable of carrying gross tonnage.

Your comment regarding East Bangkok:
Gross Tonnage: 20218 t
Deadweight: 32474 t

Take for example this latest vessel Loveland Island:

Gross Tonnage: 17019 t
Deadweight: 28316 t

Transposing your argument here:
"Its a 17k grt ton vessel, it can't load 26k mt cargo"

So what's it loading?
Copper Cons - 5,500 t
Nickel - 11,000 t
Spodumene - 10,500 t


That's 27,000 t...need we go further?
