there may be allot of water in Pilgangora from recent cyclones but these water tables run for thousands of kilometer, Bores nearby that I know of were at historical low levels even after previous wet seasons.Mining companies in Port Hedland rely on desalination plants primarily for the bulk of their water to supplement their bores, if there was such an abundance of ground water I'm sure they would solely rely on it rather than running expensive plants.
would probably need a hydrologist to explain the complexities with underground water supplies but long story short water flowing past Pilgangora could be fed from somewhere in the middle of Australia
