Isn't this the way things have always been?
If you're brought up in wealth and privilege it tends to make you take things for granted a bit, if you're brought up in tougher circumstances you tend to be more ambitious and have a stronger work ethic.
What to do? Turf your kids out on to the street aged 15 to toughen them up? I don't think so but interested to hear ideas.
