    If you include the 2000 top and compare the lunar cycles it looks like a non event this time?
    For the SP500 lunar + 4 days is common, especially following an eclipse.

    SP500

    24-3-00 1553 Friday Full Moon + 4 days
    10-10-02 769 Thursday New Moon + 4 days
    11-10-07 1576 Thursday New Moon
    9/10-10-08 ???? Thursday/Friday New Moon + 10/11 days
