NEXTDC Achieves UTI Tier III Certification for S1 Data Centre
NEXTDC Limited (ASX: NXT) (“the Company” or “NEXTDC”) is pleased to announce its S1 data centre in
Macquarie Park (“S1”) has formally received the Uptime Institute’s (“UTI”) Tier III certification for both
design and construction.
UTI has awarded 278 certifications in 44 countries around the world and is seen as a global authority on
data centre design and management. It provides unbiased, third-party research, education, certification
and consultation services on improving data centre performance and efficiency.
UTI’s Tier III certification of a data centre focuses on the facility’s capability to provide concurrent
maintainability. This refers to the ability for individual machines or parts of the critical infrastructure to be
shut down for maintenance or replacement with zero impact to critical power and heating, ventilation and
air-conditioning. Tier III certification provides UTI’s endorsement that the facility’s design will support
extremely high levels of service availability.

S1 remains on track for both its commercial launch and official opening on 30 September 2013.
