I'm going to go out on a limb and make the assumption that the "50MVA" was primarily from preliminary discussions with NextDC & Macquarie Telecom at the time. It's now expected that NextDC S2 will be 30MW & Macquarie Telecom 43MW (of which 10MW is existing & 33MW is new).
So it seems there is some comfort level and capacity to supply at 11kV in the interim.
So hopefully no restrictions or hold ups there if the DataCentre does fill up quicker than expected.
Personally I would have loved for NextDC to have announced something bigger for S2. The increased operating leverage and ability to delay the S3 build would have been very attractive).
