My heart bleeds for the farmers...about time they joined the free market instead of living in cushy "old boy network" markets...
If the demand is there, the supplier sets the price...Economics 101.
For too long, farming has been about privatising profits and socialising losses by sticking out the begging bowl anytime their business doesn't kick over as much as they think it should. I am pretty sure most business owners would love a free handout when their books are suffering.
Farming in Australia needs to be dragged into the 20th century, and then the 21st.
