Coal Shipments ex Newcastle My limited research suggests that over the next 7 days incl today 45 bulk carrier will arrive and 40 bulk carriers will depart. Based on a 100,000 ton load that is an export of about 4,000,000 tonnes of coal for a week. That is a best estimate . E&O.E. BHP's latest report (Item 10.3) shows average price for 12 months ending 30th June 2022 for metallurgical coal as US $347 per tonne. At conversion rate to A $ O.7 to US$1 that is equates to just short of A$500 per tonne .BHP cost per tonne about $115 per tonne. Lets suppose that NHC shipped from February 2022 to July 2022 , 800,000 tonnes ( upper estimate) per month , that 6 months, totally 4,800,000 tonnes at say net of $100 costs per tonne ( bit less than BHP's experience ) that adds to a cash flow of A$ 1,900,000,000. Lets see how NHC actually performs.
