Higher coal prices are already here. US$400/t is astronomical. What hasn't happened yet is the realisation of this in our share prices. The divvies and buy back we are seeing right now are only going to drive prices through the roof. I reckon this re-rate will occur over the next 12 months... unless the Rainbow Europeans capitulate and take a knee to Russia.
Europe has a few of options. 1) Capitulate, pay Putin in gold and accept the destruction of the western fiat currencies. 2) Invade Russia and take the hydrocarbons... aka get their rainbow diversity asses whooped. 3) Freeze 4) Cut down forests and burn wood like people did 400 years ago. 5) Mine their own coal. Lignite... hahaha... 6) Pay market rates and beg South Africa to ramp up production.
