Seriously if anybody could have predicted the propulsion of coal price and respective companies sky rocketing to the extent they have they'd be deemed lunatics. Perfect storm of events to produce the stakes.
If you're a long time holder, every FF dividend is terrific news well beyond expectations (and in comparison with a lot of other solid potential investments on the ASX) and even better still hearing the news of buy backs just rings in more opportunity.
Looking forward to the outcome, but even a 30c dividend is close enough to a 5.5% share price return - that's nothing to sneeze at for a final div!
A lot of these companies are coming to terms with substantial bank rolls and turn of fortune, and to be fair, have handled the situations quite well. What is important is the ongoing the long term operations and forward planning for the inevitable crack down on 'bad / non clean' energy producers (most holders here know what makes the electricity wheels go round...)
A few cents off your expected bumper dividend won't hurt the bank in the long term - if it is used wisely.
