Sorry to tell you the bad news,
2 dead in Indo Ni riots & army deployed yesterday.
just the start of my long predicted unravelling of the Indo Ni saviour fable.
Some say these sino tax schemes, low offtake price fixes, slave labour wages & conditions, chinese communist management, poisonous dumping in local jungles & rivers, dirty carbon emitting hpal plants, lack of local community support, the list just goes on & on... will affect Indo Ni production long term.
The western NGOs HRW & CIA are all over it no doubt.
Tsingshan your major holder here has been shorting the LME NP for a decade thereby reducing NIC revenue & margins deliberately. Why?
Soon this could affect NIC from 2 sides, local operation, local workforce & targetted counter discrimination, nationalisations, otherwise riots & strikes.
We saw this in new caledonia, aceh & sulawesi already.
Disruption in Indo will cause a NP spike & ni production slashed, which is very bad for Tsingshan.
Will this affect NIC now, soon or this year?
