Source:SMMReal-time profits of NPI plants rose slightly last week based on the prices of nickel ore purchased 25 days earlier.SHANGHAI, May 15 (SMM) - Real-time profits of NPI plants rose slightly last week based on the prices of nickel ore purchased 25 days earlier, which was contributed by the rising NPI prices amid expanding demand and shrinking supply while stable nickel ore prices. CIF prices of nickel ore stabilised last week, and the traded prices grew as the NPI plants might raise their offers. NPI prices rebounded somewhat during the week. But in the last few trading days, the slumping nickel prices affected the NPI market sentiment, which, coupled with the possible production cuts of stainless steel mills and the arrivals of Indonesia NPI, weakened the prices. Therefore, SMM believes that the profit margins of NPI plants will decrease slightly.
