Below is the likely reason for the little surge in the price of nickel last week. Sanctions were not applied to Russian nickel and it's maybe already come off the boil. As I tried to say in my too cryptic reply to Rosencrantz, maybe it will be better anyway to keep the screws on the less efficient producers a bit longer - to help NIC come to the fore.
