Early this month, Ridwan Djamaluddin (former senior staffer in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resoures and long term Luhut ally) was arrested by Indonesian Attorney General's Office on a corruption case relating to ANTAM's nickel concessions in Southeast Sulawesi. The fallout is now widening, with operations at some ANTAM sites suspended and a pause on issuing new mining quotas coming into effect, which "could reduce ore supply in the country by 30% during the August-December period, said MySteel."
